Our client is seeking an experienced Estate Planning & Administration Attorney to join its growing private client services practice. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with individuals, families, business owners, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses on sophisticated estate planning and wealth preservation matters.
The ideal candidate enjoys building long-term client relationships, solving complex planning challenges, and working collaboratively within a boutique environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Draft sophisticated estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance medical directives.
  • Advise clients regarding wealth transfer, estate tax, gift tax, and business succession planning.
  • Handle probate and estate administration matters from initial filings through final distributions.
  • Counsel trustees, executors, and fiduciaries regarding trust and estate administration.
  • Assist clients with trust funding and implementation of estate plans.
  • Work directly with accountants, financial advisors, and wealth managers to coordinate planning strategies.
  • Conduct legal research involving estate, tax, and fiduciary issues.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and practical legal advice.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active Virginia Bar admission required (Maryland and/or DC admission is a plus)
  • Estate planning and estate administration experience
  • Strong drafting skills
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
