Job description

Technician - Plate Mounter

Location: Lenexa, KS

Shift: 2nd shift

Schedule: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm, Monday-Friday

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and quality-focused Plate Mounter to join our flexible packaging manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, organizing, maintaining, and mounting printing plates and sleeves to support efficient, high-quality flexographic printing operations. You will play a key role in ensuring plate inventory accuracy, mount quality, and press readiness while partnering with Pre-Press, Production, and Scheduling teams to support pre-production activities, pre-flighting, and production schedules. This position is critical to delivering consistent print quality and maintaining compliance with safety, GMP, and SQF standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you will do

  • Cleans and prepares plates and sleeves for mounting, with backing on sleeves, according to specifications on job envelopes.
  • Wrap, label, and load mounted jobs on carts to be taken to the press or to storage.
  • Inspects cylinders and gears for defects and reports to supervisor, to maintain proper usable inventory for continuous production
  • Demounts cylinders as necessary
  • Responsible for managing and handling hazardous waste.
  • Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks on machine
  • Performs rework as necessary
