Job description

Salary: 22.30-24.40

PRESS RESPONSIBILITIES - GOOD MECHANICAL ABILITY AND MATH SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Load raw materials and set-up rolls as required, communicating with the shipping department ensuring that all film for current and upcoming jobs are at the press ahead of the time they will be needed. Splicing and keeping web in press.
  • Add ink to pumps as necessary and maintain proper viscosity/PH throughout shift. Document all information accurately and thoroughly on viscosity data collection sheets and turn them in at the end of every shift. Check infeed and return flow periodically throughout shift to prevent any pan overflow, deck blowouts, starving, etc. Communicate with the ink department when ink supply runs low and needs to be restocked.
  • Prepare for changeovers, deck cleaning and any other planned function ahead of time so that all supplies needed are at press before it goes down.
  • Assist press operator on changeovers, including, but not limited to, changing cylinders/anilox rollers, washing deck(s) down, removing ink/waste from press area, cleaning all plate cylinders when they come out of the press if there is no utility associate provided, staying by operators side assisting with any other task to help complete the entire set up process.
  • Assist operator/ink technician with color matching.
  • Responsible for assisting with drum cleaning and any other equipment cleaning as directed by operator or supervisor.
  • Webbing press due to missed splice or other malfunctions.
  • Help remove finished rolls, replace cores and pack rolls for shipment with accurate labeling.
  • Assist in trouble shooting/quality issues and monitoring AVT and scan-a-web.
  • Responsible for making sure that the press is never left unattended by communicating with press operator/press crew before leaving for a break.
  • Housekeeping of press and surrounding general/common areas must meet expectations every shift.
  • Any additional duties or assignments given by press operator and/or supervisor
