Job description
This position is a regular, full time position. Pay is based on experience. This will be an off-shift position which may include weekend work. A shift differential of $1/hr will be paid for working an off-shift. This is not an entry level position. If you do not have printing press experience, please consider applying for Press Department Helper which is the first step in learning to operate a printing press and can offer skills and experience required to become a Press Feeder.
Job Summary / Purpose
Assist press operator in assuring quality and efficiency while operating the printing press. Gain knowledge and skill to be able to move into the 1st Pressman position.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of machine setup for a variety of inks and substrates
  • Knowledge of industry quality standards for offset printing
  • Knowledge of the materials and equipment utilized in offset printing
  • Assist operator with Heidelberg offset press at maximum production speed, maximum utilization, and minimum waste.
  • Assist with Quality Assurance tasks before, during and after a production run
  • Ensuring good housekeeping of the machine and work area as well as good safety practices for all team members
  • Comply with all company rules, regulations and safety requirements
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed to satisfy customer demands as well as covering for fellow employees’ time off.
  • Operate hand, fork, and clamp trucks as required and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Offset, sheet fed, paperboard printing experience
  • Become familiar with compliance with Neff’s current cGMP and ISO Standards and SOPs
  • Understand Job Jacket information
  • Complete necessary paperwork
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
PREFERRED Qualifications
Experience as Feeder in offset printing with conventional inks and/or UV inks and coatings on Heidelberg equipment. Other printing equipment and Web printing experience will be considered.
