Job description

Job Purpose: To efficiently lead the night shift sheetfed team in printing jobs meeting company
quality standards while maintaining optimum speeds and minimal downtime
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Provide guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to the sheetfed team to ensure tasks
are completed quickly and effectively.
• Be the point of contact for team members; engaging each member to achieve company goals.
• Train, develop and motivate team members.
• Lead by setting a good example and encouraging the team to work to their fullest potential
• Work in tangent with other pressman and be responsible for make ready, operating, and
maintaining sheet-fed offset printing press.
• Communicate and escalate pertinent issues to Pressroom Manager
• Assist pressroom manager with the training and development of new employees
• Assist pressroom manager and maintenance in the upkeep of machine activity logs and part
usage logs
• Will work with both the pressroom manager and plant manager on continuous improvement
projects
• Asist pressroom manager and fellow pressman with any troublesome job set ups and QC sign
offs.
Required Skills:
• Excellent communication skills
• Participate in problem solving and quality improvement task forces.
• Provide technical support and leadership throughout the department.
• Achieve and maintain company standards in production, quality, waste and safety
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Set-up / adjust press for job runs to meet specifications, to include making necessary color or
register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the
quality specifications of the job.
• Perform document review to ensure job requirements are known and understood.
• Monitor product quality against sample and established quality standards and make
corrections as necessary.
• Perform press repairs, maintenance, upkeep and cleaning.
• Follow Pressroom procedures for control sheets, charging time & material, load tags, FSC
stock, and samples
• Maintain acceptable productivity standards while minimizing raw material waste
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Execute the responsibilities of this position in a lawful and ethical manner.
$23 - $30 an hour
