JOB PURPOSE:
To provide UX Design for Solar Digital products and service. The position requires you to showcase your user-centric design, research, collaboration, and analytics skills as part of the digital design team and to share that knowledge with the team.
JOB DUTIES:
The Principal UX Designer is a proactive self-starter who is keen on good user-centric design, has excellent analytical abilities and, more importantly, loves to create alongside other people who are passionate about what they do. The Principal UX designer knows the power of compelling experiences and uses this to enhance the product they are working on, and since the web space is dynamic they are masters at coming up with solutions that are responsive to change in the future. More than just crafting solutions, the Principal UX Designer is a true advocate for the user. Their creative and problem-solving expertise allows them to architect products that deliver value and solve business problems across various platforms.
At Solar Turbines, the Principal UX Designer is a high-performing and enthusiastic individual who is one of the fully engaged creative leaders, and an integral part of our fast-growing digital team. The Principal UX Designer has extensive UX knowledge and deep expertise in making use of their knowledge and experience to lead the creation of satisfying and compelling user experiences drawing from user research and workflow analysis. As a leader, the Principal UX Designer is skilled in leading teams of UX designers and mentoring junior designers to maintain the highest level of quality throughout the team.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead UX Designers, and work closely with UI Designers, Front-End Engineers, and Product Owners to ensure the solidity of product solutions and deliver top notch user experiences
  • Ensure alignment of current UX design efforts with business goals
  • Lead brainstorming and concepting for exceptional user experiences
  • Contribute to the definition of professional standards, procedures or processes
  • Apply broad knowledge of UX best practices to solve problems
  • Foster communication and express ideas to conveys concepts to the teams
  • Lead and review the work of UX Designers

Basic Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree with an emphasis in UX Design, HCI, Human Factors or related areas of study; or work experience of 10+ years in a UX design-related position
  • Professionally crafted online portfolio
  • Experienced at creating and leading the creation of UX assets such as sitemaps, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, design systems, and collaborative workflows.
  • Experience using AI tools in the design process to accelerate research, ideation, and design execution.
  • Experience designing AI-powered user experiences with a focus on usability, accessibility, and user trust.
  • Mastery of prototyping and other feedback tools
  • In depth knowledge of UX methodologies (double diamond process) related to user and workflow research, interviews and surveys, and the ability to use the information to make data-driven design decisions
  • Ability to manage other designers on a project basis
  • Experience in creating new products and improving existing ones
  • HTML/CSS knowledge (desired)

Top candidates will also have:
  • Extensive background in UX design for digital products
  • Interest and understanding of how to leverage AI in digital products and design workflows
  • UX portfolio showing wide variety of product/UX design
  • User testing and research expertise
  • Several examples of driving ideas/solutions to completion

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
