MILLBURY PUBLIC SCHOOL
OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT
VACANCY NOTICE: July 16, 2026CLOSING: until filled
School Year 2026-2027
Full Time Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Technicians
(Grades 3 - 6)
GENERAL DUTIES:
Duties as an ABA Technician will vary depending on the particular assignment. It is possible to be working with one student, a group of students, or a large group in the general education or substantially separate setting.
Duties may include:
Providing coverage for Classroom/Sped teachers for meetings
Preparing materials for teachers in the Special Education department
Setting up assistive technology for student use
Participating in weekly training/consultation with classroom teacher
Reinforcing previously taught concepts in a small group setting
Communicating with liaison regarding progress of students
Administering daily content area tests/quizzes as well as standardized tests
Documenting student progress both academically and behaviorally
Reinforcing instruction of general education under the direction of a Special Education Teacher
Accompanying students to general education classroom and providing modifications to instruction
Constant monitoring and alert nurse of medical needs
Assisting with self-help skills, including but not limited to clothing, feeding, toileting
Supporting students during lunch, recess, field trips and/or community outings
Participating in student progress meetings when requested, and provide input for progress reports and objectives; inform appropriate staff of program changes and updates
Completing parent communication logs and district documents as required
Participating in required professional development, such as restraint training, CPR/First Aid certification, and staff meetings and extended day sessions
Demonstrating flexibility when daily schedules change
Adhering to confidentiality protocols
Providing adult supervision as a bus monitor, cafeteria monitor, and/or during extracurricular activities, as needed
Completing other duties that are designated by the Lead Teacher and/or Behavior Specialist, Building Principal, and/or Director of Pupil Services
Duties specific to ABA Technicians:
Serve as a bus monitor for morning and afternoon runs
Cafeteria Duty
Support students during extracurricular activities, as needed
Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum programs and modifications, including but not limited to augmentative communication devices, task analysis, and discrete trial materials
Maintaining students' program books, including but not limited to organizing assessments, documenting programmatic changes, and conducting reinforcement assessments
Implementing instructional and behavioral programs as designed by the Behavior Specialist
Using ABA procedures to conduct and amend student programs and record appropriate data in pull-out and inclusion settings. This includes, but is not limited to, discrete trials, social stories, and social skills training
Modeling ABA techniques and provide support for other staff as requested by the Behavior Specialist
Conducting data collection at all stages of skill acquisition
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma required. Associate's Degree, or higher, in education or related field required for some positions
Experience or training in ABA, preferred
Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certified, preferred
WORK SCHEDULE:
School year as determined by the School Committee
Anticipated Hours 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, includes ½ hr. unpaid lunch
Opportunity to work the 2027 Summer Program (July-August)
SALARY:
Per Instructional Assistant/ABA Technician contract, with considerations for education level and experience
