Job description

We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Principalย to lead our national water treatment practice with highly skilled professionals in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in any of our 45+ office locations or virtually.

In this role, you will serve as the company's senior subject matter expert in the design and implementation of advanced water treatment systems for contaminated groundwater, surface water, and industrial wastewater. You will provide leadership and technical direction for a nationwide team, supporting the design, evaluation, engineering, and optimization of treatment systems addressing a broad range of emerging contaminants, industrial process water, and site remediation challenges. The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary project teams, guide the application of innovative treatment technologies, engage with agency and stakeholder groups, and mentor technical staff across the company.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will
:

  • Lead major consulting assignments associated with your area of expertise, providing expert-level technical and strategic consulting, and ensuring that assignments align with client needs.
  • Leverage your breadth of experience and knowledge from working across multiple clients, projects, codes, and regulatory frameworks and/or market segments and geographies to align project scopes with client objectives to deliver extraordinary client value.
  • Lead the development of team technical competence, knowledge of codes and regulations, and professional standards of practice to assigned tasks.
  • Direct, coach, and support teams of staff in quality execution of multiple projects simultaneously within your technical practice area and specialty.
  • Be sought after to provide leadership for staff at varying levels with expert mentoring and coaching to support alignment of staff with market and client needs and to support the growth and innovation of our practice areas.
  • Enhance company visibility by leveraging your role to advance company relationships with clients and project stakeholders and obtain new project assignments in your area of expertise.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to perform remediation and industrial water treatment projects through the project lifecycle phases-including nationwide team oversight and technical guidance.
  • Lead large technical evaluations and design efforts, including advanced water and wastewater treatment systems, emerging contaminant challenges, dewatering projects, and process water optimization projects.
  • Lead key communications and negotiations with state and federal environmental agencies, industrial partners, and client representatives.
  • Lead all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate the company's foundational safety behaviors.

ย SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of related experience.
  • PE registration required.
  • Able to integrate industry-leading advancements into work as appropriate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including verbally communicating and presenting project information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Applies emotional intelligence to achieve higher impact on project teams and client communications.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in advanced water and wastewater treatment process design, site remediation engineering, dewatering, industrial wastewater, and emerging contaminant treatment technologies.
  • Demonstrated competency with various environmental regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated history of cross-disciplinary team oversight and national-level project leadership.

The salary range for this positionย nationwide is 200,000 - 240,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.ย This role is eligible to participate in the company's performance-based bonus program. This bonus program is based on overall company performance and the results achieved compared to peers.ย This role is eligible to receive a sign-on bonus.
