This role allows aspiring principals to gain hands-on experience and mentorship while learning the skills necessary to manage a school effectively. Principal In Residence programs typically include responsibilities such as supporting teachers, analyzing school data, and participating in leadership decisions. The goal is to develop the knowledge and competencies needed to lead a school successfully.

How does a principal in residence typically collaborate with school leadership and teaching staff during their residency?

A Principal In Residence works closely with current school leaders, such as the head principal and assistant principals, to learn the intricacies of school administration. This collaboration often includes shadowing leadership in decision-making processes, participating in instructional coaching, and supporting teacher development initiatives. • Uphold strict confidentiality and demonstrate impeccable discretion at all times.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in a luxury private residence, boutique hotel, yacht, or similar high‑service environment.
  • Ability to travel to other properties as needed.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Warm, professional communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and family needs.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Full‑time role with flexibility for weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and move throughout a multi‑level home.
  • Comfort working with cleaning equipment, chemicals, and delicate materials safely and appropriately.

Compensation & Environment

  • We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience as well as 100% employer‑paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and their eligible family members.
  • The household provides a respectful, stable, and professional work environment where excellence, loyalty, and discretion are valued.
