Position Specific Description
The Engineering, Construction & Supply Chain Business Unit is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to join their team.
This is a leadership role responsible for end-to-end financial planning, cost tracking, and reporting for NextEra Energy's Fossil Construction projects. The selected candidate must have past fossil cost tracking experience. They will serve as the primary financial partner to project management and construction execution teams, ensuring accurate and timely visibility into project spend, forecasts, and capital disbursements.
The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with large-scale capital project finance, regulatory reporting requirements, and enterprise financial systems, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
Job Overview
Employees in this role supports Senior Management decision making via financial modeling, including but not limited to, revenue requirement, cash flow analysis and financial statement modeling. This position identifies and conducts complex analyses of financial impacts of issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Accurately manages the tracked costs of federal hub fossil projects to keep costs within budget.
  • Develop quarterly and annual capital call requests and cash disbursement forecasts.
  • Develop and track monthly liability and cash spend forecasts.
  • Provides required financial reports and documentation for both internal and external audits.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, and financial integrity utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department's forecasting models.
  • Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies.
  • Acts as a mentor to lower-level employees.

• Provides expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring these services
• Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies
• Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings
• Prepares PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management
• Acts as a mentor to lower level employees
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• High School Grad / GED
• Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
• Experience: 6+ years
