Job description

The Sales Agent is responsible for the development of business opportunities with both current and new customers, gaining trust among clients by offering top-of-the-line service and operational excellence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify new Freight forwarding business opportunities for both perishables and dry cargo.
  • Attract and retain new clients.
  • Negotiate competitive rates according to market conditions and the best agreement for the company.
  • Investigate the market to be able to negotiate, for high seasons, spaces and rates in cargo with due anticipation within air transportation for import and export.
  • Maintain abreast and ensure timely response to customer requests.
  • Identifies and monitors rate changes, ensuring that they are notified to customers in a timely manner.
  • Identify and anticipate critical situations by establishing contingency, plans to present to direct manager.
  • Make decisions about critical load points analyzing the risks (cost benefit -time, cost, and quality).
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other Prime Group team members to achieve global business results.
  • Work in a coordinated manner with the accounting and operational team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • This position may have to travel to various destinations in order to source and maintain clients as well as identify new markets and/or opportunities.
  • Must utilize, input, update, extract information from Sales Force.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and experience of the New York market.
  • Business or related degree.
  • 3 to 5 Yearsโ€™ experience in a Freight forwarding sales role.
  • Computer skills required: proficiency in MS Office, Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and people skills. Committed to customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish

A willingness to work after hours, weekends and holidays, as necessary.
