You will work from the comfort of your home, connecting with patients via our secure telehealth platform. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, ensuring a structured yet adaptable workweek.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the unique life experiences and needs of elderly residents, identifying specific therapeutic and care requirements.
• Deliver individualized and group counseling sessions that address common emotional challenges faced by seniors, including those related to loss, anxiety about aging, and significant life changes.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive, personalized care plans that enhance the overall well-being of geriatric clients.
• Educate both family members and staff on best practices for supporting emotional well-being, facilitating a more supportive environment for elderly individuals.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions to assist clients and their families in navigating end-of-life issues with compassion and understanding.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs focused on maintaining mental acuity, utilizing evidence-based techniques to combat cognitive decline.

The primary client demographic for this role includes seniors facing various mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders. Our counseling services are aimed at helping this vulnerable population navigate their unique struggles with dignity and respect.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in counseling elderly clients, ideally in geriatric mental health settings.
• Advanced training or specialization in geriatric mental health and its associated challenges is strongly preferred.

• Experience in developing and implementing therapeutic programs specifically designed for elderly clients.
• Strong familiarity with evidence-based interventions tailored for older adults.
• Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, allowing effective interactions with patients who may have varying degrees of cognitive ability.
• Cultural sensitivity and empathy in understanding the diverse backgrounds and experiences of older adult clients.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough assessments and craft individualized treatment plans.
• Knowledge of the ethical and legal standards governing mental health practices concerning elderly populations.
