a problem solver. During check-in meetings with clients, you will assist clients by quickly diagnosing any misalignments between an actuary’s potential use of the software and the underlying assumptions behind Akur8.

a visionary. Akur8’s software is in a constant state of development, and feedback from the Actuarial team is essential to inform Akur8’s roadmap. A Pricing Actuary is expected to identify potential features or offerings that are beneficial to both the software and the industry, and work with our product team to best define the underlying problem and evaluate potential solutions.

Additionally, you’ll also contribute to white papers and present at conferences or webinars to establish the leadership of Akur8 in the United States and other markets.

Traveling is required for this role for approximately 5 working days per month (including teambuilding trips to our Paris / North American offices, industry conferences, and onsite client meetings).

The successful candidate must meet each of the following criteria to be considered for this position:

  • Hands-on experience in actuarial ratemaking and rate deployment within a P&C or general insurance pricing environment.

  • Ability to understand insurance business imperatives and translate them into practical, software-driven solutions.

  • Curiosity and the ability to quickly understand prospects’ and clients’ ratemaking processes, identify their key requirements, and map them to functionality within the Akur8 platform.

  • Ability to present ratemaking analyses and recommendations clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.

  • A basic understanding of Data Science and Machine Learning techniques for predictive modeling; given the nature of this role, no coding is required, though familiarity with Python or R is considered a strength.
