Maintenance Manager @ Glanbia
Join this dynamic team focused on delivering better nutrition for every step of life's journey!
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance operations across multi-shift food production lines for the Mooresville facility. This role ensures equipment reliability, adherence to preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, and compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Manager will assemble, motivate and manage a high-performance team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage business-sustaining capital projects, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Hire, lead, coach, and develop high-performing maintenance and facilities teams across multiple shifts.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews to foster growth, accountability, and succession planning.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and technical direction to enhance employee knowledge and retain top talent.

Safety, Compliance & Culture
  • Promote a culture of safety, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead departmental safety and ensure compliance with GMPs, OSHA, EPA, and all relevant food safety standards (FDA, NSF, Organic, Halal, Kosher).
  • Conduct regular safety and environmental audits.

Maintenance Strategy & Operations
  • Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies and schedules (using SAP, CMMS, Upkeep CMMS) to maximize equipment reliability and OEE.
  • Assign and prioritize workloads for maintenance and facilities personnel.
  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure timely, quality service.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory, procurement, vendor negotiations, and manage contracts for building maintenance services (HVAC, compressed air, electrical, landscaping, snow removal, building shell).
  • Hire and schedule subcontractors for specialized maintenance work and approve maintenance contracts.

Technical Support & Process Improvement
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and process optimization to reduce downtime.
  • Use metrics to assess and drive improvement opportunities.

Collaboration & Capital Projects
  • Collaborate closely with Operations to align maintenance activities with production goals.
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and prepare/manage departmental budgets, including capital forecasts and cost control.

Emergency Response
  • Respond to facility issues and emergencies on a 24/7 basis.

What You Will Bring To The Team
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • At least 5 years of relevant maintenance leadership experience, preferably in a food or nutraceutical production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of high voltage multi-phase electrical systems troubleshooting.
  • Experience in food processing and packaging equipment and processes.
  • Experience with HVAC, alarms & surveillance, fire systems, electrical service and distribution systems.
  • Working knowledge of GMP's, OSHA, Electrical Safety, Food Safety (FDA, SQF, NSF), and Building Code regulations.
  • Experience with computerized predictive/preventative maintenance program, work order generation/logging and provide trend information.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high intensity environment.
  • Ability to read and understand control logic, P&IDs and other technical material pertinent to automated packaging equipment.
