Senior ADHD Prescriber

The Senior ADHD Prescriber is a key clinical role within Skylight Psychiatry's growing neurodevelopmental service. This position combines direct patient care with opportunities to contribute to prescribing governance, service development, and clinical quality improvement. Working closely with the Clinical Director and multidisciplinary team, the postholder will support the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based ADHD assessment and medication management services for children, young people, and adults across the UK.

The Senior ADHD Prescriber will conduct ADHD diagnostic assessments, initiate and manage ADHD medication treatments, and carry out follow-up reviews for patients undergoing titration. The role includes managing an active prescribing caseload, providing expert advice on ADHD prescribing matters, and supporting colleagues with complex prescribing queries. In addition, the postholder will contribute to prescribing governance activities such as clinical audits, supervision, and the development of standard operating procedures, helping to maintain high clinical standards and support the continued growth of the service.

Skylight Psychiatry is an independent provider of specialist neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment services, delivering high-quality ADHD and autism assessments for children, young people, and adults throughout the UK. The organisation is committed to providing accessible, patient-centred, and evidence-based care through a collaborative multidisciplinary approach. As an innovative and rapidly expanding service, Skylight Psychiatry combines clinical excellence with a strong focus on continuous improvement, ensuring the highest standards of care for the individuals and families it supports.

The Senior ADHD Prescriber will support safe and effective ADHD medication management while contributing to the standardisation and governance of prescribing practice across the service. You will work closely with the Clinical Director and wider clinical team to support high-quality patient care and scalable clinical pathways.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting 3 ADHD diagnostic assessments per week
  • Initiating ADHD medication where clinically indicated
  • Undertaking medication follow-up reviews for patients undergoing titration
  • Managing an active prescribing caseload
  • Acting as a senior point of reference for ADHD prescribing queries across the service
  • Contributing to prescribing governance activities including SOP development, supervision and audit
  • The role is primarily remote; however, the post-holder may be required to attend the Basingstoke office approximately once or twice per month for meetings or service development activities.

We are looking for a clinician who:

  • Is a qualified Independent Prescriber
  • Has experience prescribing ADHD medication
  • Has strong knowledge of NICE ADHD guidance
  • Is confident managing prescribing decisions and clinical risk
  • Is comfortable supporting colleagues with prescribing queries
  • Works well within a multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Experience conducting ADHD diagnostic assessments or working within neurodevelopmental services is desirable.
