Job description

About Softline Solutions
Softline Solutions is a full-service digital marketing agency based in Southern California that helps small and mid-sized businesses grow online by increasing visibility, generating leads, and boosting sales. They build tailored, data-driven campaigns across key digital channels and manage everything from strategy to execution and reporting. The goal is measurable growth, not buzzwords. Some companies include Closets by Design, Canada Dental Group, travel companies, and merchandise distribution companies
About the role
We are seeking a mid-level Brand Systems Designer to serve as the production backbone of the Brand Systems team - the designer who keeps brand standards precise, assets sharp, and guidelines alive across a high volume of work. This role blends brand identity execution, commercial design, and multichannel output across print, digital, OOH, and marketing applications. You should be equally comfortable refining a logo system and producing packaging layouts, paid media assets, or email templates that stay rigorously on-system.
This is not a template-fill role. The ideal candidate combines strong production craft with a genuine understanding of brand systems - knowing not just how to follow the standards, but why they exist - and brings an active curiosity about how AI tools can accelerate and elevate creative output.
What you'll do
Build the Brand Identity Foundation
• Lead logo identity development from brief through delivery - primary marks, sub-brands, lockup systems, and the rationale that holds the system together
• Architect brand systems end-to-end: define the standards for typography, color, iconography, photography direction, and imagery that scale across print, digital, and environmental applications
• Own brand guideline development - building documents that are strategic, comprehensive, and written to be used by designers, partners, and vendors - not filed away
Extend the Brand Across Channels
• Establish how brand identity extends into 3D, motion, and video: concept and art direct across these channels, setting the creative standard for the team
• Lead concepting for OOH, experiential, and environmental activations - translating brand systems into spatial and large-format contexts
• Curate photography and imagery direction: develop art direction standards and creative briefs that keep visual output consistent across brand and commercial contexts
Drive Commercial and Campaign Output
• Apply brand systems thinking to commercial work - across brand touchpoints and visual frameworks that feed into print, packaging, campaign layout, paid media, marketing, and email
• Contribute brand strategy copywriting: naming, messaging frameworks, brand voice guides, and positioning language in partnership with copy and strategy leads.
Nice to Have
• Agency, consultancy, or fast-paced in-house experience managing multiple brand identities and campaigns simultaneously - ideally across franchise, multi-location, or licensed brand environments
• Background in packaging design - dieline familiarity, print spec awareness, or retail and CPG production context
• Experience applying motion design or video tools (After Effects, Premiere, Cinema 4D, Blender, Keyshot, or equivalent) with a desire to grow in that direction
• Familiarity with Figma for design systems documentation or digital handoff workflows
Qualifications
Experience
• 4-7 years of experience in brand identity design, brand systems, or related creative field.
Skills
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) - works directly in
production files, not just at the concept level.
• Strong working knowledge of motion and 3D tools (After Effects, Premiere, Cinema 4D, or equivalent)
- able to concept and art direct; hands-on execution strongly preferred.
Mindset
• Genuinely motivated by business outcomes. You care that your research leads to better conversion,
not just better-looking decks.
• Proven track record authoring brand guidelines and making system-level decisions, not just
applying standards set by others.
Why This Role
• You're building alongside leadership - your work feeds directly into the Creative Director of Brand
Systems, not into a queue where it loses context or momentum
• Work across a diverse portfolio of brands where craft and systems thinking are equally valued - no
two weeks look the same across identity, packaging, commercial, OOH, and campaign work
• Build production depth and grow toward strategic contribution alongside senior brand design
leadership - this role is positioned to take on greater ownership as the team scales
• Contribute to a fast-moving, multi-channel creative environment where the work is visible, the impact
is measurable, and what you ship helps shape how Softline's brands look, feel, and scale across
every touchpoint
Benefits & Perks:
• Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance
• 401K Retirement Plan
• Paid Vacation Time
• Paid Holidays
The pay range for this role is:
100,000 - 140,000 USD per year (Softline HQ)
