Job description

What's the job. Due to an internal promotion, we have an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager at our CertainTeed Insulation manufacturing plant in Athens, GA. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager designs and implements solutions and manages projects that support the plant in attaining safety, quality and production goals.

The Maintenance Manager leads the repairs, installations, and upkeep of all process equipment. Their main duties include planning and leading repairs, designing maintenance procedures, tracking budgets and expenses and performing inspections on different equipment to find problems and make repairs. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading a team of highly skilled engineers, mechanics and electricians to achieve world-class performance by use of personnel, material, and technical resources to optimize equipment and facility usage.

Will lead or participate on project teams focused on continuous improvement in a number of areas including production efficiency and quality. Maintenance Leadership Lead repairs and reduction of downtime to improve production output and product quality. Create and implement a reliability strategy within the Maintenance Department.

Ensure equipment and personnel adhere to all Safety and Environmental requirements. Develop multi-year plans to improve mechanical reliability to world class levels. Is the plant subject matter expert in regards to preventive and predictive maintenance.

Partners with other Reliability Team members in order to develop plant preventative maintenance plans which multiple departments can help perform in order to accomplish goals and objectives. Works with Plant Maintenance and Engineering Departments to develop predictive maintenance strategies to improve uptime with plant equipment and build in redundancy in critical areas. Supervision of Maintenance Personnel Leads the Maintenance Team in developing self-planning and execution process of daily, weekly and monthly PM's and work orders; ensuring proper prioritization; human resource and physical asset utilization.

Management of maintenance team to provide optimal support to meet production and quality requirements. Provides 24/7 on call support utilizing maintenance supervisors, engineers, and maintenance technicians. Understands cost and downtime trends and identifies projects to take corrective action.

Ensures the success of the Maintenance Team 5S program and Spare Parts Program. Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS What do you bring. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - mechanical, electrical, or automation preferred.

Prefers 10 years of work experience as a Maintenance Manager working in a manufacturing environment with 24/7 continuous manufacturing. Demonstrated experience leading maintenance team in repairs and downtime reduction. Demonstrated experience planning and leading major repair projects and Capital projects.

Experience managing large spare parts inventory and preventive maintenance programs. Previous supervisory experience, with a highly-skilled technical workforce in a Union environment Previous experience managing a large Maintenance department with Supervisors, Engineers, and 30+ maintenance technicians. Previous experience managing many outside contractors and projects.

Ability to lead by example; as well as coach, train, and develop individual contributors. Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to translate technical data and reports into proposals and action plans.

Active listening skills with the ability to discern key points from technical materials. Strong organizational skills with a focus on task prioritization and allocation of resources. Above average communication skills - written and verbal.

Provide written communication for daily, weekly, and monthly projects and reports. Demonstrated conflict resolution skills with positive results. Excellent MS Office proficiency combined with solid analytical skills and SAP experience.
