Position Summary

We are seeking an experiencedย Estimator / Production Plannerย to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for reviewing customer requirements, estimating manufacturing costs, planning production processes, and developing work instructions for precision machined parts and assemblies.

The ideal candidate has experience in an aerospace or high-precision job shop environment and understands machining processes, manufacturing workflows, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and manufacturing plans for machined parts and assemblies
  • Determine material, labor, tooling, outside processing, and production requirements
  • Develop routers, travelers, and detailed work instructions
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, purchasing, and quality departments
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding technical requirements and quote-related questions
  • Support production scheduling and job planning activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records within the ERP system

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in estimating and/or production planning within an aerospace or precision machining job shop
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Solid understanding of CNC machining processes, materials, tooling, and manufacturing methods
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Experience estimating machined components and assemblies
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AS9100 and ISO-controlled manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of milling, turning, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes
  • Familiarity with aerospace, defense, medical, or commercial manufacturing requirements
