Salary Range: $100k to $115k

Position Summary
The Sales-Oriented Systems Engineer is a key member of the pre-sales organization, responsible for engaging with customers to understand technical requirements, designing solutions, and supporting the sales team in driving new business. This role focuses on technical consultation, solution architecture, and customer engagement. Detailed estimating and proposal pricing are managed by a separate team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with prospective and existing customers to gather technical requirements and business objectives
  • Design and present tailored technical solutions aligned with customer needs
  • Support the sales team throughout the sales cycle, including meetings, presentations, and technical recommendations
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through ongoing engagement
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align solutions with product capabilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on system design and technical implementation
  • Provide technical input for proposals and ensure accurate documentation of requirements
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to stakeholders
  • Develop and execute proof-of-concept (POC) solutions in lab or customer environments
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and requirements in CRM systems
  • Create technical documentation and collateral to support sales efforts
  • Participate in trade shows, webinars, and marketing events as a technical representative

Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
  • Experience with telecommunications, wireless systems, or microwave networks
  • Knowledge of RF and microwave propagation principles
  • Experience with microwave path design tools (e.g., Pathloss, LINKPlanner, or similar)
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking (Layer 2/Layer 3)
  • Experience using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers or network analyzers
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot or similar)
Additional Technical Experience (Preferred)
  • Land Mobile Radio (LMR), SCADA, or narrowband radio systems
  • Fiber optic systems, TDM interconnects, or SNMP monitoring
  • Logistics or supply chain awareness
