Automotive Pre-Owned Service Technician

Serra Ford Farmington Hills is seeking a motivated and highly organized Automotive Pre-Owned Service Technician to join our fast-paced, high-performing team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing pre-owned vehicles to ensure they meet dealership and manufacturer standards. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction will help maintain our reputation for quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures
  • Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
  • Communicate directly with the Pre-Owned Manager regarding additional service needs and estimated repair times
  • Execute warranty repairs following manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including keeping assigned work areas and vehicles orderly
  • Collaborate with team members to meet service department goals and customer expectations


Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as an automotive technician
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostic procedures
