The Goddard School of State College is seeking candidates for full-time Preschool and Pre-K Assistant Teachers.
Candidates will help create a caring, nurturing, and safe environment for the children and assist in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Plan learning activities within established classroom centers.
  • Implement prepared lessons and activities in small and large group settings throughout the program day.
  • Assist children with managing all parts of the program day, including transitions between activities, meals, toileting/diapering & washing hands, structured activities, etc.
  • Establish positive and effective family relations through interactive parent communication.
  • Ensure compliance with Goddard’s Industry-leading Quality Assurance standards
Qualifications:
  • Shows empathy and compassion for young children
  • Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal
  • Experience working with children in a childcare, daycare, volunteer, or babysitting setting for Assistant Teachers.
  • A degree or certificate (CDA) in early childhood, elementary education, related human services field, or early childhood coursework is required for Lead Teachers.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infants and Young Toddlers, Teachers must be able to lift infants into and out of a crib properly
