Summary Statement
This position supports the Bureau of Oral Health and Dental Services at schools and community locations statewide. Responsibilities include preparing events, organizing supplies and records, transporting staff and equipment, tracking inventory, and making deliveries. Assists with participant intake, student escorting, consent documentation, recordkeeping, and data entry. Provides administrative support by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance and treatment history, answering dental helpline calls, and following up with families. Statewide travel and occasional evening or weekend work are required.\r\n
Essential Functions
Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here. \r\n\r\nPlans, coordinates and oversees a statewide disease or health hazard control program. \r\nDevelops operational procedures and monitors program activities to ensure compliance of same. \r\nCoordinates program activities with other public and private programs to ensure total compliance. \r\nInteracts with federal, state and local government officials. \r\nPrepares annual budget request. Ensures procurement of equipment, supplies and/or contractual services needed. \r\nMonitors and evaluates statistical data to determine appropriate target screening areas. \r\nPrepares and maintains records and reports as required. \r\nPerforms testing and reviews results to ensure quality control of sample collection and staff performance and to monitor effectiveness of screening program. \r\nPlans, assigns, supervises and evaluates the work of staff engaged in sampling, surveillance, screening and inspection activities and clerical support functions. \r\nTrains staff in program techniques. \r\nPlans and delivers educational programs. \r\nProvides technical assistance to physicians, hospital administrators, laboratory directors and public and private agencies in disease/health hazard reporting methods.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Health Program Coordinator \r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: \r\n\r\n Six months experience in program monitoring such as monitoring program activities and recommending alternatives, improvements, courses of action, and other changes based on findings. \r\n Six months experience in screening and detecting communicable or chronic diseases/health hazards to control the spread of diseases/hazards. \r\n Six months experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. \r\n Six months experience in narrative report writing. \r\n Knowledge of etiology of communicable or chronic diseases/health hazards. \r\n Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
