Provides guidance and direction to crews in budgeting and scheduling. Ensures job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained at every project stage. Strong relationship building skills with clients, customers, and vendors to cultivate a positive work environment. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position is that of a working superintendent, responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks. Essential Functions:Supervises sheet metal Foreman, field crew, subcontractor and craft activities, including determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, mechanical and sheet metal sources, scheduling and documentation.Coordinates work of different crafts, company departments, other Superintendents and/or other contractorsIdentifies and documents potential change orders Builds and maintains a positive relationship with internal project teams, our customers, subcontractors, and key vendors. Conduct weekly safety meetings Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functionsPerform material take-offs, ordering tools, materials and equipment in a timely fashion to maximize field productivityResponsible for quality installation of sheet metal activitiesResponsible for production management including manufacturing and pre-fabrication activitiesResponsible for management controls (i.e., schedules, cost control, procurement and quality/safety) monitor production, on time delivery and cost controlMaintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal and safety regulationsPerforms a wide range of skilled construction tasks as Sheet Metal SuperintendentActs as liaison with engineering, estimating, and project teams, to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and scheduling is being metCoordinates with other departments (i.e., Quality Control and Engineering) to ensure all required materials and equipment, inspections, and support craft activities Resolves problems in a variety of construction issues, including productivity monitoring, craft compliance with project safety program requirements; documenting and implementing corrective actionPerforms other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibility: Yes Required:7+ years of commercial experience in the field as Superintendent on sheet metal or HVAC operations; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceExtensive knowledge of Sheet Metal / HVAC systems installationAbility to successfully supervise large crews (20+) as Sheet Metal SuperintendentKnowledge of other mechanical trade disciplinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPrevious knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning and estimating Advanced understanding of construction cost control, forecasting and setting goalsStrong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplinesKnowledge of other mechanical trade disciplinesProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to effectively present information to customers, clients and colleaguesOSHA 30 and CPRDemonstrated knowledge of, reading, interpreting and working to:Design drawings (isometric and orthographic), design guides, specificationsSupport Drawings and specificationsContract documents and site coordination of subcontractorsMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:  Work Environment:May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampnessMay work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levelsMay be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dustMay be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights Physical Demands:This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and armsMust be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus Travel:May require travel  Preferred:10 years' experience in a heavy mechanical construction environment as SuperintendentPrior experience working hands on in the sheet metal field as Mechanic or ForemanPrior military experience HS diploma or GED equivalent  Visit us at www.acibuilds.com for more information!Final compensation will be determined based on applicable experience, education, licensure, skills, and other relevant factorsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer--Sheet Metal Superintendent - Commercial
