Our client, Alt Construction, is growing again!

Alt Construction is a growing commercial construction firm built on craftsmanship, integrity, and people-first leadership. As we continue to grow, we are adding a Senior Pre-Construction Manager to bring advanced estimating and pre-construction strategy knowledge and partner closely with Operations and Leadership.

About the Position

The Senior Pre-Construction Manager plays a critical individual-contributor role at Alt Construction, leading complex pre-construction efforts and serving as a trusted partner to Operations and Leadership. This position is responsible for developing accurate, thoughtful estimates and pre-construction strategies that set projects up for success.

The Senior Pre-Construction Manager brings a high level of judgment, accountability, and ownership to each pursuit, helping ensure that projects align with Alt's standards, capabilities, and long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full pre-construction lifecycle, including conceptual budgeting, detailed estimating, value engineering, and bid strategy
  • Review and approve estimates, assumptions, scopes, and risk considerations prior to submission
  • Partner closely with Operations and Project Management to ensure smooth handoffs from pre-construction to execution
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers
  • Continuously refine estimating processes, tools, and standards to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Support client conversations during pre-construction to build trust and confidence
  • Analyze historical cost data and project performance to improve future estimates
  • Uphold Alt Construction's values in every interaction internally and externally

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating or pre-construction, preferably with a general contractor
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods across commercial project types
  • Experience collaborating closely with operations, project management, and ownership
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients and partners
  • Proficiency with estimating software and construction technology platforms such as BuilderTrend, Procore, Bluebeam, and Timberline.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
