PURPOSE / GENERAL DUTIES

The Online Admissions Counselor plays a vital role in advancing the university's enrollment goals by supporting all aspects of the admissions process for online undergraduate and graduate programs. This position is responsible for recruiting prospective students, guiding them through the admissions journey, and ensuring a seamless transition from inquiry to enrollment.

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Online Admissions Counselor works collaboratively to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal benchmarks. The role requires proactive applicant engagement, strategic follow-up, and a commitment to providing high-quality service and support throughout the enrollment cycle.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Primary duties of this position include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Effectively and accurately communicate the mission, vision, and values of the university.
  • Generate inquiries, applications, and enrollment for assigned programs through recruitment activities.
  • Travel frequently and coordinate personal travel plans to recruit prospective students at events, churches, conferences, etc. when assigned to an event. This position requires frequent year-round travel, with the highest travel between September to November.
  • Actively recruit and enroll new students into the university's programs.
  • Manage a portfolio of prospective students, providing personalized guidance from point of inquiry through the first week of classes.
  • Conduct timely and strategic follow-up via phone, email, video, and in-person interactions.
  • Support and monitor applicant progress, ensuring completion of application materials and timely decisions.
  • Maintain accurate communication logs and applicant files in the CRM system.
  • Recommend admission decisions to the Vice President of Enrollment Management based on university guidelines.
  • Implement melt prevention strategies and support admitted students through enrollment.
  • Represent the university at college and graduate fairs, church events, and recruitment activities, including travel as assigned.
  • Collaborate with Admissions and Enrollment Management teams to support shared goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide Spiritual care for applicants as needed.
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned by the VPEM.

NOTE: Though not required, this position is optionally eligible for appointment as a Foursquare minister under certain conditions. If appointed as a minister, the employee will be available to provide pastoral care and prayer. In addition, s/he may be called upon to perform sacerdotal duties upon request of the University.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum requirements include:

  • A vibrant and authentic Christian faith and worldview consistent with the University's Statement of faith which all employees are required to sign.
  • Earned bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Admissions, ministry, sales, customer service, or external relations is highly preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with prospective students, pastors, faculty, staff, & leaders (solid interpersonal, public address, written/verbal communication skills are a must)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects/deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Proficient working computer knowledge: Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must have a valid state driver's license.
