Job description

Operations Assistant Manager 2nd Shift

The Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability, minimizing costs, and prevent shortages or overstocking. They support the Inventory Manager in maintaining efficient inventory systems, tracking stock movements, and collaborating with other departments to meet operational and sales demands.

Department: Operations/2CC

Reports To: Operations Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2nd Shift (Rotating weekends and overtime may be required) (Schedule is subject to change based on production requirements)

Worksite Location: Ellabell, GA (Must have the ability to commute 5-10 miles to neighboring facilities for meetings, events, etc.)

Key Responsibilities an Operations Assistant Manager:

1. Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available to meet demand.
  • Assist in developing and implementing inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Perform regular stock counts, audits, and reconciliations to maintain accuracy.

2. Stock Optimization

  • Analyze inventory usage trends and forecast future requirements.
  • Identify and address slow-moving or obsolete stock to minimize losses.
  • Ensure timely reordering of products while considering lead times and storage capacity.

3. Data Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in inventory management systems or software.
  • Generate and present reports on inventory levels, turnover rates, and discrepancies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate inventory efficiency.

4. Supplier Coordination

  • Coordinate with suppliers to manage deliveries and resolve any discrepancies in shipments.
  • Negotiate with vendors for optimal order quantities, pricing, and lead times.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups on pending orders and backlogs.

5. Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to align inventory goals with operational needs.
  • Support the warehouse team in maintaining proper storage and handling of goods.
  • Assist in training and guiding team members on inventory-related processes.

6. Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure inventory practices comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Implement measures to maintain the quality of stored products.
  • Address and resolve inventory discrepancies or issues promptly.

Qualifications for an Operations Assistant Manager:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ Years in experience in inventory management as an Assistant Manager or related roles.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $81,200-$85,900. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
