Job description

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cheerleading Assistant Coach to support our growing cheer program. With a record number of student-athletes this season, the Assistant Coach will play a vital role in providing supervision, individual skill development, and safety oversight during practices.
Pay Range: $17.75-$18 per hour
Length of Work Year: September - February

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing daily practices, stunt progressions, and conditioning routines.
  • Ensure student-athlete safety by strictly enforcing proper stunting, tumbling, and spotting techniques-particularly during competition preparation.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to team members at practices.
  • Serve as a positive role model, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit aligned with OLP's mission and values.
  • Assist with team administrative tasks, attendance tracking, and equipment management as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Prior coaching or competitive cheerleading experience
  • Knowledge of standard CIF cheer rules, safety guidelines, and stunt progressions.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Current First Aid / CPR / AED certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
