Job description

Advanced Practice Provider -- Oncology

Upson Regional Medical Center (URMC) is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our growing Oncology team and help launch our new Oncology and Infusion Service Line. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of cancer care in rural Georgia while making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families facing a cancer diagnosis.

At URMC, our mission is simple: provide excellent care rooted in compassion for all. As part of our strategic growth initiatives, URMC is expanding access to specialty services close to home, including oncology care designed to reduce the need for patients to leave our community for treatment. Oncology has been identified as a priority growth service line within URMC's strategic plan.

Be Part of Something Extraordinary

This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to help build a comprehensive oncology program from the ground up. As a key clinical leader, you will work alongside oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary team members to create an exceptional patient experience while delivering evidence-based cancer care.

Position Highlights

As an Oncology APP, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient oncology care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of cancer patients, as well as inpatient consults.
  • Conduct follow-up visits, treatment toxicity assessments, symptom management, and survivorship care.
  • Serve as a first-line clinical resource for infusion-related concerns and treatment support.
  • Participate in new patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations, diagnostic review, and care coordination.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, prescribe medications, and implement supportive care interventions.
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, and supportive services.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary oncology team focused on delivering outstanding outcomes and compassionate care.

Why URMC?

At URMC, you'll find:

The opportunity to help launch a new Oncology and Infusion Service Line serving a growing regional need.
A mission-driven culture committed to excellent care rooted in compassion for all.
The ability to practice at the top of your license in a collaborative, physician-supported environment.
A chance to improve access to cancer care close to home for patients throughout Upson and surrounding counties.
Competitive compensation and benefits.
A supportive team dedicated to quality, patient experience, innovation, and community impact.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Master's degree from an accredited NP or PA program
  • Current Georgia NP or PA licensure
  • National certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent)
  • Two or more years of experience as an RN, NP, or PA in an inpatient or outpatient clinical setting

Preferred:

  • Medical Oncology experience
  • Disease-site-specific oncology experience
  • Oncology certification (AOCNP®, AOCN®, or equivalent)

Make a Lasting Impact

Cancer care is personal. At URMC, we believe patients deserve access to exceptional oncology services close to home, delivered by clinicians who combine advanced expertise with genuine compassion.

Join us in building the future of cancer care at Upson Regional Medical Center. Be a part of launching our new Oncology and Infusion Service Line and help us provide excellent care rooted in compassion for all.

Apply today and help transform cancer care for our community.
