POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible work managing the administrative and business operations in the Tallahassee Regional Operations Center. These activities include fiscal and property management. Duties include the supervision of support staff providing property management, preparation and monitoring of the Region's budget.  Responsible for supervision of staff and incumbent spends the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating members while planning and directing their work.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Preparing and administering regional budget(s) to include general revenue, trust funds, and grants and donation trust funds;
  • Developing spending strategies to maximize effective utilization of all appropriations;
  • Reviewing and interpreting SAMAS reports;
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation necessary for contracts and services to ensure contracts meet State guidelines and Department Policies and Procedures;
  • Providing regional budget updates and periodic status reports to management;
  • Preparing requisitions, direct orders, sole sources and bids for goods, services and supplies ensuring that all documentation is processed in a timely manner and consistent with established policies and procedures;
  • Administering and making recommendations for OCO purchases to assure effective support for all regional operations, including investigations, lab, DNA Database and field office;
  • Monitoring overtime expenditure;
  • Preparing and submitting reimbursement requests for overtime as allowed by Task Force Agreements and agreements with other agencies; and
  • Monitoring and maintaining OCDETF agreements to include requests for reimbursements.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. At least two years of experience working with My Florida Market Place; 
  2. At least two years of experience working with P-Card Works as an account holder or an approver; and
  3. At least two years of experience with project management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of management and supervision;
  • Knowledge of business functional areas such as purchasing, accounting, budgeting or personnel;
  • Ability to manage the business functions of an agency;
  • Ability to determine work priorities, assigns work, and ensures proper completion of work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to business management;
  • Ability to assess budgetary needs;
  • Ability to formulate policies and procedures;
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze business related data;
  • Ability to work independently; and
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions.

BASE SALARY:

  • $68,289.00

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
