Job description

Do you enjoy herding cats, juggling chainsaws, and keeping a busy veterinary clinic running smoothly—with a smile and a dry one-liner? You might be our next Practice Manager.
Who We Are
We’re a 5-doctor small animal practice in Pensacola, FL, established in 1984 and purchased by our associate veterinarians in 2021. Our clients are the “we’ve been coming here for three generations” type, and we like it that way.
Pensacola gives you:
● Gorgeous beaches
● The Blue Angels overhead (free airshows, you’re welcome)
● A relatively low cost of living
Our schedule is civilized:
● 5-day work week, 8:00 am–5:00 pm
● Closed on weekends
Benefits:
● 100% paid health insurance
● 401(k) with employer match
● Paid holidays

● 2-4 weeks paid time off.

Who You Are
You’re a seasoned veterinary practice manager who understands that “organized chaos” is still supposed to be organized. You’re energetic, steady under pressure, and have the kind of dry, witty sense of humor that makes staff meetings survivable.
Required qualities and experience:
● Veterinary clinic management experience

○ You’ve previously managed a veterinary practice (not just “helped out in the office”).
● Energetic and proactive
○You notice problems early and fix them before they become “all-staff emails.”
● Strong work ethic

○You follow through, follow up, and don’t disappear when things get hard.
● HR skills

○ Comfortable handling hiring, training, scheduling, performance conversations, and the occasional delicate “we need to talk” moment.
○ Able to maintain a professional, fair, and supportive environment—even when tensions run high.
● Inventory management
○ Experience controlling inventory levels, negotiating with vendors, monitoring costs, and making sure we don’t run out of essentials at 4:45 pm on a Friday.
What You’ll Be Doing
● Oversee daily operations of a busy 5-doctor small animal practice
● Lead, support, and coach our team so they can do their best work without losing their minds (or their sense of humor)
● Handle HR functions: recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
● Manage inventory: ordering, tracking, and cost control for drugs, supplies, and equipment
● Work closely with the owners on process improvements
● Help maintain a culture that is professional, kind, and just sarcastic enough to stay fun
What You’ll Get (Besides Sand in Your Shoes)
● A stable, long-established clinic with loyal clients and committed owners
● A team that values communication, respect, and competence more than drama
● Predictable hours with evenings and weekends to yourself
● Strong benefits package: paid holidays, fully paid health insurance, and 401(k) match
If you’re an experienced veterinary practice manager who enjoys solving problems, leading people, and can appreciate a good deadpan joke between crises, we’d like to hear from you.
