Target Salary: $120,000 - $165,000

One of the nation's most respected AmLaw law firms is seeking an experienced Land Use & Development Manager to join its growing Real Estate and Land Use practice in Miami. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside highly regarded land use attorneys representing sophisticated developers, investors, institutions, and commercial real estate clients on some of South Florida's most impactful development projects. If you have extensive experience navigating Miami-Dade's land development process and thrive at the intersection of government relations, zoning, planning, and real estate development, we'd love to speak with you.
What You'll Do
- Manage and coordinate complex land use, zoning, and development applications from inception through approval.
- Prepare, file, and monitor rezonings, variances, special exceptions, site plan approvals, and other entitlement applications.
- Coordinate submissions with municipal and Miami-Dade County agencies.
- Research zoning ordinances, comprehensive plans, land development regulations, and related governmental requirements.
- Support attorneys with due diligence, regulatory analysis, strategic planning, and client communications.
- Assist with development feasibility analyses and entitlement strategies.
- Track project schedules, public hearing calendars, and regulatory deadlines.
- Collaborate with developers, consultants, architects, engineers, government officials, and legal teams to move projects forward.
- Help develop and execute community engagement strategies for high-profile public hearing matters.
- Independently manage multiple active development projects while maintaining exceptional client service.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university.
- 10+ years of experience in land use, zoning, urban planning, or development within South Florida.
- Strong understanding of Miami-Dade County land development and entitlement processes.
- Established relationships with municipal, county, and state governmental agencies throughout Florida.
- Experience managing complex projects and working directly with executive stakeholders.
- Strong research, analytical, organizational, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry platforms including GIS applications, Municode, CodeHub, ProjectDox, and comparable permitting systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- AICP certification or comparable professional accreditation.
- Spanish language proficiency.
