Job description

A global Law Firm is seeking a Legal Assistant/Practice Assistant for their Houston location. The position calls for someone who is experienced in providing high-level executive administrative legal support in a high-volume, fast-paced law firm environment. The Practice Assistant will help with correspondence, calendaring and coordinating attorney schedules, and assist with client and legal support activities. Candidates must have a proven track record of strong organization, discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously in a law firm environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player who communicates effectively, builds strong working relationships, and consistently delivers outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments, meetings, conferences, and coordinating complex domestic and international travel arrangements.
  • Provide administrative support by managing expense reports, timesheets, correspondence, phone communications, and business trip documentation.
  • Maintain accurate client, matter, and case-related records, including conflict searches, file management, and database updates.
  • Prepare, draft, edit, and proofread legal and business documents, correspondence, reports, and other routine materials.
  • Support client service and business operations by assisting with billing, marketing initiatives, proposals, and client relationship activities.
  • Serve as a key liaison for attorneys, staff, and clients by facilitating communication, resolving administrative issues, handling overflow assignments, and maintaining practice resources and reference materials.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a law firm or legal support environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a professional client-service focus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow complex instructions accurately.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

Compensation; $75,000 - $112,500
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
