We're looking for an experienced Director of Marketing & New Business Development to serve as the marketing leader for MassMedia as a company. This individual is responsible for developing and executing the agency's annual marketing strategy, managing the MassMedia brand, overseeing all agency marketing initiatives, and driving new business development. Success in this role requires a sophisticated understanding of integrated marketing communications and the ability to apply that expertise to grow MassMedia's brand and business.

The ideal candidate understands how advertising, public relations, social media, digital marketing, media planning, creative, content marketing, events, and brand strategy work together to build awareness, generate demand, and drive business growth. They are equally comfortable developing marketing strategies, leading brand initiatives, networking with senior executives, and identifying new business opportunities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Agency Brand Leadership

Lead the marketing strategy and execution for MassMedia's brand by:

  • Developing and executing the agency's annual marketing plan.
  • Serving as the steward of the MassMedia brand, ensuring consistent positioning, messaging, and market differentiation.
  • Leading the agency's positioning, messaging, and brand evolution.
  • Overseeing all agency marketing initiatives, including:

New Business Development

  • Develop and execute the agency's annual business development strategy.
  • Identify and qualify prospective clients aligned with MassMedia's growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Research organizations experiencing growth, leadership changes, acquisitions, funding events, or other indicators of marketing opportunity.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of integrated marketing communications, including advertising, public relations, social media, digital marketing, media planning, creative, content marketing, and brand strategy.
  • Proven ability to build brand awareness, generate demand, and support business growth through integrated marketing.
  • Demonstrated success generating new business and cultivating executive-level relationships.
  • Outstanding presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and problem-solving abilities.
