Job Description:

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented PR Intern to support Lower's communications and public relations efforts. In this role,you'llhelp support media relations, content initiatives, and brand storytelling across Lower and Movoto.You'llgain hands-on experience researching media opportunities, supporting journalist outreach,assistingwith press campaigns, and helping bring industry insights and company stories to life. Ifyou'recurious about how brands tell their stories, earn media attention, and build awareness through strategic communications, we want to hear from you.

Internship Details:

  • Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week

  • Typical Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. ET. We understand class schedules vary and can offer flexibility around academic commitments during business hours.

  • Duration: Fall semester internship, expected to run from early September through early/mid-December.


Whatyou'lldo:

  • Identify and research media opportunities, including monitoring reporter requests, commentary opportunities, industry trends, and relevant news cycles to support proactive media outreach across Lower, Movoto, and the broader housing and real estate industries

  • Research journalists, media outlets, podcasts, newsletters, and speaking opportunities to expand and maintain targeted media lists across mortgage, housing, real estate, business, personal finance, and local markets

  • Support press releases, company announcements, and executive communications by researching information, preparing materials, and drafting initial content

  • Research award programs, speaking opportunities, and other opportunities to increase executive visibility

  • Assist with data-driven content initiatives by conducting background research, compiling statistics, fact-checking information, and supporting report development

  • Help track and report on PR performance, including media coverage, outreach efforts, and campaign results

  • Maintain PR calendars, media databases, coverage archives, and other organizational resources

  • Support special communications projects across Lower and Movoto as needed

Who you are:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, business, or a related field. Junior or Senior standing is preferred but not required.

  • Strong writing, research, and organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Curious about media, storytelling, and how companies build brand awareness

  • Comfortable researching unfamiliar topics and turning information into clear, compelling content

  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

  • Interest in the housing, real estate, finance, or technology industries is a plus
