Position Overview:

Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our Consumer Public Relations programs and strategies with external agencies and internal partners (social media, influencer marketing, in-house content team, brand teams, culinary kitchens, Consumer Affairs). The Associate Manager, PR serves as a key source for media inquiries and cultivates/manages relationships with media, influencers, and key-opinion-leaders to generate positive reputation for our brands and products. This role will report to the Director Integrated Marketing and Communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day consumer public relations activities and breakthrough campaigns with agencies and internal partners; participate in creative campaign sessions; consult on strategy documents and presentations; edit/write press releases and key messages; and create digital media press kits & mailings.
  • Lead new products media strategy with PR agency to gain awareness.
  • Support development and execution of PR programs that sustain campaign momentum through timely storytelling, proactive outreach, and trend-driven opportunities.
  • Develop media outreach strategies and targeted media lists. Monitor media landscape for opportunities and respond to media inquiries. Maintain detailed internal media notes and contacts list.
  • Support media training preparation and coordinate press interviews by developing briefing materials, managing schedules, and ensuring spokesperson readiness.
  • Assist in managing earned influencer programs and product seeding initiatives, including identifying partners, coordinating shipments, and tracking coverage and engagement.
  • Manage influencer relationships and work with creators and agencies to support campaigns that generate earned coverage.
  • Support planning and execution of media and influencer events by coordinating logistics, managing guest lists, and assisting onsite to ensure smooth execution and strong brand representation.
  • Create campaign, quarterly, and year-end reports, including KPI analysis and insights to drive future programs and ideas. Work with insights and marketing mix teams to evaluate PR effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with social media and content teams to develop opportunistic social content to gain earned media coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other related field
  • 5+ years public relations experience (in-house or agency).
  • Experience managing PR campaigns, working with social influencers/creators, and media relations.
  • Experience managing a PR agency.
  • Position requires strong knowledge of modern PR and emerging earned media, influencer relations, and social media. Vendor management experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influence skills are necessary.
  • Incumbent will routinely interact with internal and external customers, so solid business acumen and strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Incumbent must be able to establish and maintain cooperative relationships, lead projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to work under pressure and with firm deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach.
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (especially PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with digital/social media required.
  •  Analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills and able to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to fast-paced environment.
  • Consumer Products Industry experience preferred

Base Salary: $87,910 - $153,870

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan. In addition to a competitive compensation package, permanent employees of McCormick are eligible for our extensive Total Rewards programs that include:
