Job description

Position Title: Extended Learning Program Teacher (Anticipated)

Location: Phillipsburg Primary School

Reports To: Building Principal

Compensation

A stipend of $500 will be provided to each participating staff member through applicable Federal Funds (Title I). Four (4) positions are available. (Account #: 20-231-200-100-000-012)

Position Summary

The Extended Learning Program Teacher provides engaging academic and enrichment experiences for students participating in the Extended Learning Program. The teacher designs and facilitates activities that reinforce academic skills while promoting creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and social-emotional development in a positive and supportive environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Teach one (1) one-hour session per week for one six (6)-week program.
  • Plan and implement engaging academic and enrichment activities aligned with program goals.
  • Reinforce literacy, mathematics, and other academic skills through interactive, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Foster student engagement, creativity, collaboration, and social-emotional growth.
  • Create and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide supervision of students during parent/guardian dismissal and pick-up.
  • Maintain attendance and required program documentation.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support student success and program goals.
  • Follow Phillipsburg School District policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate required.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students.
  • Strong instructional, communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
