Job description

Sr DevOps Engineer
Who We Are
US Cold owns and operates one of the most complex temperature-controlled logistics networks in North America. Every day, our systems coordinate the storage and movement of food at national scale across a network of state-of-the-art distribution centers, including multiple highly automated warehouse facilities.
We continue to advance our core warehouse and logistics platforms. Our current focus is on modular, event-driven, API-first and cloud architectures. We continue to enhance reliability and accelerate engineering productivity by strengthening our SRE and AI practices. This is a large investment in innovation to continue to drive operational excellence at our facilities.
If you want to build durable systems that operate in the physical world at scale, this is that opportunity.
The Role
The DevOps Cloud Engineer owns the cloud infrastructure, automation platforms, and operational reliability of the systems powering US Cold Storage's customer and business applications. You will partner with Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Integration teams to design, implement, and scale highly available cloud platforms while reducing operational toil through automation and Infrastructure as Code. This role is critical to enabling rapid software delivery, maintaining platform security, and ensuring business continuity for mission-critical logistics systems.
What You Will Own
  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across Azure and OCI environments
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and modern DevOps practices
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles

  • Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Partner with Security teams to implement access controls, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements
  • Support API platforms, integration services, load balancing, and traffic routing across customer-facing systems
  • Lead incident response activities, root cause analysis efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Optimize cloud resource utilization and manage infrastructure costs while maintaining performance objectives
  • Collaborate with Development and Infrastructure teams to establish DevOps standards, best practices, and platform governance

Technical Environment
  • Azure and OCI Multi-Region Infrastructure
  • GitHub Actions and Jenkins for CI/CD
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Node.js, Python, React, and Next.js Applications
  • IBM Sterling B2B Integrator

  • Azure Monitor and Enterprise Observability Platforms

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Operations
  • Strong experience designing and supporting cloud environments, preferably Azure
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, load balancing, DNS, security, and identity management
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability platforms
  • Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies
  • Experience supporting production environments with high availability and uptime requirements
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex distributed environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting API gateways and enterprise integration platforms
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as SOC2, ISO 27001, or NIST
  • Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments
  • Experience supporting customer-facing SaaS or B2B platforms
  • Exposure to SRE practices and AI-assisted operational tooling

Why This Role Is Different
  • You will build and operate cloud platforms that support both internal business systems and customer-facing services
  • You will leverage AI-assisted tools, Azure Monitor, and modern automation practices to improve reliability and engineering productivity
  • You will own critical infrastructure that directly supports warehouse operations and the movement of food across the country
  • You will help shape the future cloud and platform strategy of a rapidly modernizing technology organization
