Job description

Borden Hauling, aWasteConnections company, is looking for a safety consciousYard Laborer/Container & Cart Washerto join our team inElkhart, Indiana.

The shift isMonday - Friday,day shiftwith occasional overtime.

This position will perform a variety of duties including the washing and cleaning of carts, containers, trucks, and compactors in support of maintenance operations.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize a container cleanliness program and see that containers stick to an organized wash schedule.

  • Wash carts, containers, compactors, trucks to support business needs.

  • Sweepfloor, put parts away, and perform other custodial functions to maintain order and cleanliness in the work area. Assist in keeping building grounds and wash bay clean and organized. Daily use of power washer.

  • Perform minor repairs to the equipment and facility.

  • Perform other related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma and/or GED.

  • Valid driver's license & clean driving record.

  • 1+ year of work experience preferably in a labor type position.

  • Proven ability to be a self-starter and ability to work with little supervision is required.

  • Experience in a maintenance shop or industrial environment preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

  • Must pass criminal background check, drug panelscreeningto be eligible for employment.
