Job Description for Controls Systems Engineer - Power Generation: Houston, TX

- Develop, program, and debug control logic for industrial power generation systems using various PLC platforms.
- Integrate subsystem interfaces and enable data exchange with supervisory control systems.
- Design and implement sequencing, interlocks, alarms, and fault/fail-safe handling logic.
- Support HMI integration by developing appropriate PLC tags and diagnostics.
- Collaborate with system architects and software teams for system integration and validation.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), site commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Work with a range of equipment including engines/turbines, alternators, SCR systems, and VFD-driven auxiliaries.
- Apply knowledge of power generation controls and protection/synchronization systems.
- Ensure robust communication loss detection and system safety protocols.
- Leverage experience in industrial control systems and PLC programming best practices.
