What You'll Do:

  • Analyze and design electric distribution systems (4kV-35kV), including new line extensions, system upgrades, and reliability improvements
  • Map and inventory existing overhead and underground distribution systems in the field
  • Develop construction work packages using GIS, AutoCAD, and client-specific design tools
  • Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and protective device coordination
  • Prepare engineering deliverables such as unit lists, material lists, construction contracts, and construction specifications
  • Coordinate preconstruction meetings, perform construction and post-construction inspections in the field
  • Ensure compliance with utility standards, National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), and environmental regulations
  • Distribution line design & project management
  • Distribution system mapping & modeling
  • Distribution system load flow, coordination, & arc-flash studies
  • Municipal electric utility engineering support

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
  • 2 - 5+ years of experience in electric distribution engineering, preferably with a utility, municipality, or consulting firm
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, CYME or similar distribution modeling tools
  • Strong knowledge of NESC, RUS, and utility design standards
  • Experience with Milsoft WindMil E&A software is a plus
  • Experience with O-Calc is a plus
  • PE License a plus, EIT Preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work nights and weekends as required to attend meetings or to meet demanding project schedules.

Salary Range:

$78,000.00 - $85,000.00
