JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:ย 

The Facility / Maintenance Managerย is responsible forย the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all plant equipment, building systems, and maintenance personnel within a powder metal manufacturing facility. This role oversees preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, capital projects, spare parts management, contractor coordination, and facility infrastructure to support continuous production operations.ย 

The Maintenance Manager works closely with production, engineering, quality, safety, and purchasing departments to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

Maintenance & Reliabilityย 

  • Manage all plant maintenance activities for powder metal production equipment including:ย ย 

  • Compaction pressesย ย 

  • Sinter furnacesย ย 

  • Hydraulic systemsย ย 

  • Conveyorsย ย 

  • Dust collection systemsย ย 

  • CNC/machining equipmentย ย 

  • Mixers and blendersย ย 

  • Heatย treatย equipmentย ย 

  • Cooling systems and compressorsย ย 

  • Develop andย maintainย preventive and predictive maintenance programs.ย ย 

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, andย controls-related issues.ย ย 

  • Reduce unplanned downtime through root cause analysis and corrective actions.ย ย 

  • Monitor equipment performance and reliability metrics.ย ย 

Facility Managementย 

  • Oversee facility systems including:ย ย 

  • HVACย ย 

  • Electrical distributionย ย 

  • Compressed air systemsย ย 

  • Water systemsย ย 

  • Fire suppression systemsย ย 

  • Building structure and groundsย ย 

  • Coordinate outside contractors and service vendors.ย ย 

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and local regulations.ย ย 

  • Maintain plant housekeeping and maintenance shop organization.ย ย 

Leadership & Supervisionย 

  • Supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, and outside contractors.ย ย 

  • Schedule labor coverage for production support and emergency repairs.ย ย 

  • Train and develop maintenance personnel.ย ย 

  • Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions whenย required.ย ย 

  • Promote a safety-first culture throughout the department.ย ย 

Inventory & Purchasingย 

  • Manageย maintenanceย spare parts inventory and MRO supplies.ย ย 

  • Coordinateย partsย ordering and vendor relationships.ย ย 

  • Maintainย accurateย records in CMMS systems such as:ย ย 

  • Megamationย DirectLineย ย 

  • Control maintenance budgets and repair costs.ย ย 

Continuous Improvementย 

  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.ย ย 

  • Participate in capital equipment installations and upgrades.ย ย 

  • Improve PM completion rates and maintenance response times.ย ย 

  • Assistย engineering with equipment modifications and process improvements.ย ย 

Educationย & Experienceย 

  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™sย degree in: Industrial Maintenance,ย Mechanical Engineering,ย Electrical Engineering,ย Manufacturing Technology,ย or equivalent experienceย ย 

  • 5+ย yearsย maintenance experience in manufacturing.ย ย 

  • 3+ย yearsย leadership or supervisory experience preferred.ย ย 

  • Experience in powder metal, metal stamping, machining, heat treat, or heavy industrial manufacturing preferred.ย ย 

Technical Skillsย 

  • Strong knowledge of:ย ย
