Job Title: Coating Supervisor
Job Description

The Coating Supervisor oversees all activities within the coating department for an assigned shift, leading a team of approximately 18 employees in a 24/7, three-shift manufacturing operation. This role coordinates paint line, powder coating, e-coating, pretreatment, and touch-up painting processes to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements. The Coating Supervisor ensures quality standards are consistently met, partners closely with Quality teams, and drives department efficiency, process improvements, and operational excellence while maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all coating department activities for the assigned shift, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Lead, direct, and support approximately 18 coatings employees across a three-shift operation.
  • Coordinate paint line, powder coating, e-coating, pretreatment, and touch-up painting activities to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Oversee paint lines, paint booths, and coating personnel to maintain consistent workflow and productivity.
  • Monitor quality standards and collaborate closely with Quality teams to maintain compliance with manufacturing and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop employees through coaching, training, performance management, and accountability to build a high-performing team.
  • Drive department efficiency and continuous process improvements focused on quality, throughput, and operational excellence.
  • Troubleshoot coating defects, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to all company safety procedures and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
  • Plan manpower needs, schedule employees, and manage workforce development to support production demands.
  • Multitask and prioritize activities in a fast-paced production environment to meet deadlines and delivery commitments.
