Job description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Welder II to join our team at Glenn Metalcraft. Under limited supervision, joins and fabricates metal material by apply appropriate welding techniques

Key Responsibilities
•    Advanced understanding of welding necessary to produce metal components
•    Must follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/Tag out
•    Ability to weld two or more different types (Mig, Tig, etc.)
•    Set up components for welding according to specifications
•    Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws with Quality team
•    Ability to adjust welding machine
•    Understand and accurately report daily production quantities to meet set number of parts per hour
•    Consistent and accurate counts of materials and products
•    Ability to do daily maintenance on welding machine
•    Performs necessary quality checks on product and completes daily communication
•    Ability to setup workstations according to safety standards to perform maximum efficiency
•    Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established procedures.
•    Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
•    Ability to complete the first part approval process for complex jobs
•    May tack weldments or components for robotic welding
•    May touch up points in the robotic weld cell

Qualifications
•    High School diploma or equivalent preferred
•    2 years welding experience required
•    Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditions
•    Flat Weld Certification (1G – 6G) preferred – Aws D1.1 and stainless
•    Working knowledge of welding with previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred

Skills and Competencies
•     Ability to understand and follow instructions
•    Effective problem-solving skills/detailed oriented/sense of urgency
•    Ability to read blueprints and use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and fillet gauges
•    Ability to be forklift certified
•    Ability to follow hoist safety protocols
•    Self-motivated, takes initiative

Physical Requirements
•    Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a consistent basis 
•    Ability to stand for up to 10 hours 
•    Excellent hand/eye coordination 
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools 
•    Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina  
•    Consistently wear personal protective equipment 
•    Ability to work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels

The expected base pay range for this position is between $20 and $25 per hour.  The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
