Job description

Job Details:
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the day to day activities of the hatchery including planning special projects related to maintaining an excellent hatching environment ensuring cost effectiveness is maintained and administering personnel policies in a fair and consistent manner. This includes making weekly projections and seeking outside sources when necessary working with Quality Control to ensure proper procedure is followed and that proper cleaning has been done and calculating hatchery mechanical performance and ensuring preventative maintenance is in place. Other responsibilities include assisting supervisors in training and day to day dealing with Team Members working with Hen Growers and Breeder Technicians to ensure the production of high quality eggs and working with Broiler Growers and Technicians to maintain the ideal environment for chicks. Other duties include fumigating and maintaining eggs while in the incubator arranging for chicks to be delivered to the farm and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor s degree or equivalent.
Experience: One (1) plus years experience in management. Poultry and Hatchery experience is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. For example checking electronic mail entering data into document templates or creating simple queries.
Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year
Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities.
