Job Summary:
D2 Consulting is looking for a PostgreSQL Database Architect to analyze, design, develop, implement, and support database infrastructure deployment and management. The role involves managing database functionality, ensuring security and integrity, collaborating with developers, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
• Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems
• Maintains database integrity and security, configures role-based access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accounts
• Sets up, administers, and services accounts
• Maintain documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures
• Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
• Develops and implements testing strategies and document results
• Provides advice on performance tuning and training to end-users
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
• Evaluates open-source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projects
• Collaborates with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures
• Plans and executes database upgrades, patching, and migrations
• Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
• 5+ years of related database analysis and/or administration experience
• PostgreSQL experience required. Oracle database administration is a plus
• Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions and performance tuning
• Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts
• Experience with database backup, restore, migration, and database snapshot technologies/strategies
• Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data
• Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
• TS/SCI clearance
Preferred:
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
