Job description

Job Description

The Senior Staff Product Designer, Data Visualization & Insights will define how Epsilon's users understand, trust, and act on data. You'll lead the building of visualization systems and data-driven experiences that go beyond showing information. They help marketers make decisions that increase campaign effectiveness and value. Operating with a high degree of autonomy and broad organizational influence, you'll tackle the most complex challenges at the intersection of data density, user cognition, and business outcomes. You bring a modern design sensibility that embraces AI as a tool for accelerating ideation and validation, while applying the rigor and systems thinking required across a shared platform used by many teams. This role is ideal for a deeply experienced designer who can turn raw data into proactive, actionable experiences and who knows how to drive alignment across product, engineering, and data science without relying on formal authority.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own the design approach for data visualization and analytics experiences across the product portfolio, tackling problems where the path forward requires evaluation of intangibles and independent expert judgment
  • Design proactive insight surfaces that surface the right signals at the right moment, translating complex advertising and marketing data including audience segments, attribution models, and campaign performance into clear visual experiences that connect directly to business outcomes
  • Establish a visual language and interaction framework for data that is coherent, scalable, and consistent across a shared platform used by multiple teams
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate early-stage ideation, rapid concept exploration, and idea validation, while ensuring outputs are evaluated critically and refined to meet platform standards
  • Shape and evolve design principles for data-driven experiences in alignment with multi-year product vision, including how AI-generated insights are surfaced and made trustworthy for end users
  • Build and maintain formal cross-functional networks that coordinate product, engineering, data science, legal, and other development teams. Serve as a quality anchor for the build organization. Connect long-term UX thinking to marketing performance and return on investment.
Qualifications

What you'll bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Product Design / User Experience, with significant focus on data visualization, analytics, or decision-support products
  • Deep familiarity with data visualization principles, charting systems, dashboard design, and the cognitive science of how people interpret and act on data
  • Experience delivering within Lean, Agile, or Scrum environments across large, complex, cross-functional product organizations
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership on complex, data-intensive platforms, with clear examples of how your design decisions improved user understanding and drove measurable outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment on significant, uniquely difficult problems where no obvious playbook exists
  • Proven ability to build and coordinate formal cross-functional networks to drive alignment and move work forward

Why you might stand out from other talent:

  • Proven ability to design proactive insight experiences that nudge users toward the next best action, connecting visualization decisions directly to marketing performance metrics and value
  • Fluent in the complexities of advertising data including identity resolution, attribution modeling, and audience segmentation, and how to design for the trust and transparency those concepts require
  • Actively uses AI tools to move faster in early phases while maintaining the discipline to validate and stress-test outputs, with a clear point of view on when and how AI fits into the process versus when it bypasses it
  • Deep experience building, extending, and governing accessible, scalable design systems across a shared platform, including hands-on familiarity with BI tools such as Sigma, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
  • Track record of navigating complex enterprise environments including platform consolidations, org shifts, and cross-functional alignment across data science, engineering, and product as a senior individual practitioner
