What are Post Press jobs?

Post Press jobs refer to roles in the printing industry that focus on processes occurring after the actual printing of materials. These tasks include binding, cutting, folding, laminating, and packaging printed items to create the final product. Post Press workers ensure that printed materials are finished, assembled, and prepared for distribution or sale, often operating specialized machinery. Attention to detail and knowledge of various finishing techniques are important in these roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Post Press Operator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Post Press Operator, you need a solid understanding of printing processes, finishing techniques, and quality control, often supported by vocational training or relevant experience in print production. Familiarity with bindery equipment, cutting machines, laminators, and workflow management systems is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines are valuable soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure the production of high-quality finished materials and efficient operation in a fast-paced print environment.

What are the most common challenges faced in a Post Press role, and how can they be addressed?

In a Post Press position, common challenges include maintaining high quality while meeting tight deadlines, handling a variety of finishing equipment, and troubleshooting machinery issues. Team members must be detail-oriented to catch print defects and ensure accurate folding, cutting, or binding. Effective communication with press operators and supervisors helps address problems quickly and keep production on schedule. Ongoing training and equipment maintenance are also key to overcoming these challenges and ensuring smooth workflow.

Job description

Your Opportunity

At BRANDco., part of the PLACE family of companies, we help small businesses look their best by delivering fast, high-quality print products they can count on. We are a team that takes pride in our craft, moves quickly, and holds ourselves to a high standard on every single order that goes out the door.

This is YOUR CHANCE to be at the heart of our production operation. As a Print Production Specialist, you will partner with the Production Manager and the broader production team to operate digital press equipment, handle high-volume print orders, and ensure every client receives exactly what they ordered on time and looking great. If you are detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take ownership of the quality of your work, this is your PLACE.

Who Develops You: Production Manager

What You're Great At

You are someone who takes quality personally. You notice the things others miss, you keep your workspace organized even when things are moving fast, and you do not let a high-volume day become an excuse for letting standards slip. You are punctual, self-motivated, and comfortable working with minimal daily direction once you know the workflow. You communicate proactively when something is off rather than waiting for someone else to catch it. You enjoy being part of a team that builds something tangible every day and takes pride in work that goes out the door looking exactly right.

What You'll Do

  • Operate digital press equipment including Fiery DFE and post-press finishing equipment such as UV coaters, rotary die cutters, digital die cutters, and laminators to produce high-quality print orders.
  • Handle a high volume of print production orders accurately and efficiently, keeping pace with daily production targets.
  • Assist with printing, packaging, and shipping of completed orders to ensure fast, accurate fulfillment for BrandCo's small business clients.
  • Follow direction from the Production Manager and adhere to established production workflows and timelines.
  • Maintain close attention to detail on every order to ensure quality standards are consistently met before anything goes out the door.
  • Support business card design production and other digital print services as needed.
  • Keep the production workspace clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Communicate proactively with team members on order status, issues, and priorities so nothing falls through the cracks.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a print-related production role.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced production environment is required.
  • Familiarity with digital press and post-press finishing equipment including UV coaters, rotary die cutters, laser cutters, and laminators.
  • Familiarity with digital print services including business card design and production.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and stay organized in a high-volume environment without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to production quality on every order.
  • Clear, proactive communication skills and strong active listening.
  • Punctual, responsible, and self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with minimal daily direction.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving team environment.

Salary: $20/hour
