NOW HIRING CONSTRUCTION LEAD

FULL TIME

W-2

Company: H&H Custom Buildings

Location: Helena (travel required at times)

Lead Pay: $28-$33 per hr. (based on experience and performance)

Schedule: Full-time, year-round

ABOUT THE ROLE

H&H Custom Buildings is hiring a Construction Lead to run crews building post-frame buildings and houses. This is not an entry-level role. You will lead jobs, direct laborers, and be accountable for quality, pace, planning, and professionalism on site. This is a hands-on position - expect to strap on tool bags and perform manual labor with the rest of the crew. The person in this position is responsible for employee training and jobsite production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead crews on post-frame and stick-frame projects

· Read and execute plans correctly

· Plan ahead for each job to ensure all required tools, fasteners, brackets, materials, and supplies are on site before work begins

· Ensure adequate fuel is available for vehicles and equipment prior to and during jobs

· Maintain clean, organized jobsites

· Maintain job site equipment and company vehicles, including fueling and basic daily upkeep

· Perform routine equipment checks including oil, engine fluids, hydraulic fluids, and greasing machinery as required

· Keep crew morale high by motivating through encouragement, clear communication, and leadership — not belittling or intimidation

· Communicate effectively with office staff and subcontractors

· Set the standard for quality, honesty, accountability, and work ethic

REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

· Minimum 3 years construction experience

· Experience in post-frame or housing construction

· Own required tools (listed below)

· Valid driver’s license

· Reliable transportation

· Smartphone for time and location tracking

· Willing to travel and stay out of town if needed

· Willing to pass drug screening and background check

REQUIRED TOOLS (MUST ALREADY OWN)

Tool belt, tape measure (25–35 ft), framing hammer, nail remover, speed square, chalk line, razor knife, tin snips, cordless impact drill, cordless hammer drill, cordless skill saw, cordless Sawzall, cordless framing nail gun
