Job description

You enjoy bringing out the best in people as much as bringing in new business. Without you, transforming promising opportunities into lasting partnerships—and ambitious revenue strategies into concrete results—would be a much harder sell. We’re looking for a Director of Sales for the Calgary Region who knows how to bring people, properties, and business opportunities together. With a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach, you will inspire sales teams, strengthen our presence in key markets, and drive the commercial performance of a portfolio of hotels while bringing the Germain Hotels experience to life.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of Sales Managers across a portfolio of hotels, fostering a collaborative culture rooted in accountability, innovation, and continuous growth.
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and support sales talent through meaningful mentorship, clear performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Champion the Germain Hotels culture by creating an environment where team members feel supported, engaged, and empowered to achieve exceptional results.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with our brand vision, business objectives, and revenue goals across the portfolio.
  • Partner closely with General Managers and Revenue Managers to maximize occupancy, average daily rate, market share, total revenue, and a balanced, profitable business mix.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, negotiated-rate reviews, revenue management discussions, and long-term commercial planning.
  • Translate revenue strategies, performance data, customer demand, competitive intelligence, and market trends into actionable sales initiatives that generate measurable results for each property.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across corporate, group, entertainment, and FIT segments.
  • Build lasting relationships with key accounts, strategic partners, tourism organizations, and industry stakeholders, positioning Germain Hotels as a trusted and preferred hospitality partner.
  • Represent Germain Hotels through client meetings, site inspections, networking events, trade shows, and sales missions to strengthen our brand presence and create new business opportunities.
  • Oversee the execution of commercial initiatives by ensuring consistency in sales processes, pricing strategies, reporting practices, and brand standards across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Revenue Management, Operations, regional leaders, and hotel teams to deliver integrated campaigns and commercial initiatives while promoting alignment, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence.
  • Support the continued growth of Germain Hotels through new hotel openings, regional initiatives, and portfolio-wide commercial projects while championing innovation and sharing best practices across the organization.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in hospitality sales, business development, or a related commercial role.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing and developing sales teams, ideally within the hotel or tourism industry.
  • A proven ability to achieve or exceed revenue targets across multiple properties, markets, or business segments.
  • A strong understanding of hotel sales segments, revenue management principles, pricing strategies, and distribution channels.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate commercial strategies into practical, measurable initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders at every level.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is considered a strong asset.
  • A post-secondary degree in business administration, hospitality management, or a related field is preferred.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Passionate about travel? Enjoy discounted rates at Germain Hotels and explore the country—again and again!
  • A collaborative work environment that values autonomy and fresh ideas. Contribute to the growth of a company that supports your development and recognizes you for who you truly are.
  • A hybrid and flexible work model, —peace at home, energy at the office, and more time to enjoy what matters to you
  • Squats help you relax? Access a state-of-the-art gym right in your workplace.
