Job description

Location: Portofino Resort

Department: Recreation

Status: Seasonal

Pay Rate: $15.00

Hours/Days: Vary 6 AM - 2 PM or 1 PM - 9 PM


Someone who enjoys customer service and working with children. Will assist with activities at the resort, including kids' club, kids' night outs, tie-dye, crafts, games, and activities for families.


I. Summary of the main function/purpose of the position:

Senior Counselors are high-energy, fun, organized individuals who will create a fun, invigorating environment and will be responsible for leading the activities and making sure all rules and regulations are being met.


II. Key Principal duties/responsibilities (5-8):

Supervise Children

Creating a fun, invigorating, safe environment for staff and children

Helping to set up, break down, and get all crafts and activities together for the day

Being able to be left alone with up to 5 children at a time

Enforcing all rules to employees and guests

Being able to be versatile and help with all activities, events, and kids programs

Making sure we have everything organized and an inventory of all crafts, games, and equipment

Occasional duties or projects which may be performed at irregular intervals:

· Perform First Aid to children

· Help Adventure Cove attendants with various items when needed

· Beach attendant, poolside service, Concierge; other duties assigned by the management

Lifting to 50lbs


III. Accountability: Areas in which the position is accountable/responsible:

Records: Correctly charging guests and owners for certain activities

Safety: Ensure all children are accounted for and being safe during any activity

Customer Service: Providing outstanding guest service in accordance with PIMG policies and procedures

Dept. Specific: All guests/children are having an enjoyable time at Portofino


IV. Supervisory Responsibility:

2nd in command to the Recreation Supervisor/ Kids Club Director

V. Educational and/or equivalent in experience requirements:

Bachelor's degree or Bachelors

Certification or licensing requirements:

CPR, First Aid, AED Certified


VI. Specialized equipment or machines used in the course of the duties of the position.

Mic & Speakers, Micros POS system, Wii System, Adventure Cove equipment (kayaks, paddle boards, lifejackets, etc.), Adventure Beach equipment (kayaks, paddle boards, etc.)


VII. Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly participating in physical activity (running, walking, and swimming) and may be lifting and carrying equipment for specific activities. The physical demands are pretty extensive, and the employee must be able to keep children entertained and engaged in activities while maintaining the safety of the children.

Outdoor 80% Indoor 20%
